Coming Together for Connection and Reflection: AVP Ireland’s Community Gathering in Limerick
At AVP, community is at the heart of everything we do. Twice a year, facilitators from all around the country come together to pause, reflect, and reconnect. Our recent Community Gathering in Limerick this September was one of those special moments.
For many of us, the Gathering is one of the rare times we meet in person outside of workshops. Facilitators who work across Ireland had the chance to share experiences, exchange ideas, and celebrate how far we’ve come this year.
It was a day filled with energy, warmth, and reflection. We looked back at our shared achievements — 28 workshops and over 300 participations so far this year — and took time to appreciate the smaller, and often quieter, moments of transformation that happen in every workshop: a new insight, a moment of empathy, a small act of courage.
The stories of change and transformation that were shared were incredibly moving, reminding us of the powerful impact AVP has had on us all. For example, read Robert’s story, a powerful reflection on how AVP helped him reconnect with himself, his family, and his community. His journey reminded us of the heart of AVP: Change starts within, and from there, ripples outward.
Together, we explored how to strengthen our facilitation practice, support one another, and continue growing as a community. There were thoughtful discussions, creative exercises, laughter, and moments of stillness, all the things that make AVP what it is.
We’re deeply grateful to Tait House Community Enterprise for welcoming us into their space, and to Anastasiia Zubareva for capturing the beautiful energy of the day.
If you want to get involved, we would love to hear from you!
